Al McCoy
Iowa native Al McCoy has been the "Voice of the Phoenix Suns" NBA team for more than 40 years and a fixture in Arizona broadcasting for more than 50 years. A graduate of both Drake University and the University of Iowa, McCoy credits his upbringing in Williams, Iowa and early work at Iowa radio stations WHO and KWDM in developing his strong work ethic. McCoy was inducted into the National Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007. "I grew up in a farm on Iowa, and I wouldn’t give that up for anything. It was a great place to grow up and be raised. There’s something kind of special about the Midwest," McCoy once told an interviewer.
